Bridgehaven Community Club Association Board Meeting July 17, 2021

President Blake Egenes called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m., July 17, 2021. The meeting was held at Bridgehaven Marina.

Board members in attendance were:  President, Blake Egenes, Vice President, Dave Wilson, Member At Large, Kimbery Funk, Assistant Treasurer, Marilyn Bryant, Treasurer, Carolyn Brotherton, Secretary, Nancy Schulberg. Other members in attendance, Marina Manager, Matt Maynard, and Jeff Goller.

Jeff Goller presented his concern that the view from his home is now obstructed because of his neighbor Arlene Hefferline’s growth of vegetation.  He quoted from RCW 7.40.30. A spite fence is mentioned in this RCW.  That is not the case here. Vegetation in this case is strictly for privacy.   The BHCCA Board concluded that vegetation is not enforced in our CCR and we are not  dictating what members grow on their private properties.

Water level meter costing around $2,500.00 was approved unanimously by the BHCCA Board.

Neighbors next to 200 N Beach Drive have voiced concern in regards to vegetation compromising surrounding septic systems.  The board agreed that this concern should be reported to Jefferson County.

A bond for $12,000.00 has been signed by President Blake Egenes and returned to Bellingham Marina for repairs on the docks.  Marina Manager Matt Maynard will now follow up with Bellingham Marina to set a date for dock repairs to start.

A work party needs to be planned to clean up the dock area.  Pressure washing etc.

Replacement of hoses and nozzles for docks that were in need of replacement was approved by the board.

There are presently two 20’ marina slips available.  Numbers  17 and 20.

Concern of safety and vandalism at the dock area is ongoing.  Blake and Matt will install a self closing gate to keep it more secure.

Our new architecture committee member is Diana Schnaible. Thank you Diana for stepping up and serving our community.  Diana is replacing Margie Jones who has recently moved.  Thank you Margie for your time and volunteer service on this committee.

Assistant Treasurer Marilyn Bryant gave the treasurer’s report. Our bank balance at this time is $44,558 & $345,739 in reserves. We have $65,000.00 in total reserves to allocate for 2022 proposed budget.  $10,000.00 will go into general reserves, $45,000.00 will go into marina maintenance, and $10,000.00 into dock repairs.

BHCCA water quality consumer confidence report can be viewed on our Facebook page and on our website here.

Our annual meeting is set for Saturday September 25, 2021.  Meeting will be held at Bridgehaven Marina, starting at 1:00 p.m.  Members are encouraged to bring a chair.

Blake Egenes motioned to adjourn the meeting, Marilyn Bryant seconded the motion.  Meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
