Deb Reithmeyer is a trainer for Neighborhood Preparedness in Emergency Planning, within the Department of Emergency Management. She is also the Emergency Management volunteer for Bridgehaven and Trails End. She reported that Providence Hospital donates 600 - 700 pounds of medical supplies each month? Bridgehaven needs to find a storage location and building for the medical supplies that have been donated to us. Margie Jones is compiling a list of medical supplies we should have on hand in case of an emergency. If you, or anyone you know who has experience in emergency situations and would like to help Margie, please contact her at (206)235-5315.
Deb also talked about Bridgehaven putting together an aquatic team. This team would be transporting injured people to the Kitsap side of the canal by boat. If you are interested please contact her at (816)510-7055.
Bridgehaven is also in need of a HAM radio operator. Rod Mash left all his equipment needed for this job. Susan Kriegel showed some interest in this position.
DART, which stands for Disaster Assistance Response Team training will take place April 27, 2019 at Kenmore Air. This training is to learn how to get injured people on and off a float plane.
Water Utility Manager, Dave Mathis gave notice that he will be retiring from his position in September, 2019.
He stated that the project that was going to be done on Seattle Drive Loop will not be taking place. $58,000.00 was put aside for this project. These funds will now be moved into the general fund.
We also discussed selling our ownership of Bridgehaven Water System. Blake made a motion to have Jefferson County PUD come and look at our system for purchase. Dave Wilson second the motion. Motion was passed. Blake will be contacting interested companies including Jefferson County PUD.
We have 350 approved water connections. We have 221 customers, 6 are inactive at this time.
Marina Manager, Matt Maynard reported that the first finger on the south side from the outer edge on first pier is in desperate need of repair. Bellingham Marine will be doing this repair work. Also, rods and whalers on the four front piers need to be replaced. We also discussed other issues that are in need of repair at the marina.
We received a bid to seal coat the road going down to the spit. The board decided that we need to get another bid. This next bid will be for chip sealing. Blake will be contacting an asphalt company for this.
