Our condolences to Bill Hullinger (Robin Lane), who’s wife died on October 6th. Jean suffered with Alzheimer’s and had deteriorated quite rapidly over the last five months. We talked to Bill on our daily walk this morning and he told us the sad news. Please keep him in your prayers - he is confident that she is with the Lord now and at peace finally. But this is a big adjustment for Bill, as anyone that has lost a spouse knows full well.
August 13 was our 2011 Annual Picnic - Great day - and wonderful weather too! Be sure and check out the “credits at the end” - a lot of people worked hard to make this happen. Judy Oberto, Webmaster, took these and put together this video.
August 7th was our 2010 Annual Picnic and everyone seemed to have a great time in spite of the liquid sunshine! Our fishermen gave us a special treat this year with sea life as the entree to go along with all the salads, hot dishes and desserts everyone else brought! And as you can see here, we even played games - the egg toss game in the rain - now that must have been fun! If any of you have photos you would like to share we could post them on the BCCA PictureTrail website and then display them here or the link to them. Just let me know if you would like to and we will get ‘er done! Thanks Cathy Wright for these images of the picnic. But this is just an appetizer - click on www.picturetrail.com/BridgehavenPhotos to see ALL of the images Cathy took.
DUMPING IN THE CANAL: We have become aware of someone dumping lawn and garden refuse into the canal. This is not only ecologically a bad idea it also is illegal. A large mass of this stuff has been observed floating in the water. If you see someone doing this, please make them aware that it is a bad idea and also illegal. If they will not comply, then at least let Steve Silver or any member of our Board of Directors know, and further action will be taken. As I am sure you know, much has been written lately about the deterioration of Hood Canal. So let’s all make an effort to be a part of the solution rather than of a part of the problem.
GOOD PROGRESS ON THE MARINA SEA-WALL -It sure makes for more room out in front of the Pavilion for picnic tables and such. And doesn’t obstruct the view like the old one did. Some work still to be finished up. Check it out below here!
THIS SATURDAY, March 27 - BRIDGEHAVEN CLEAN UP DAY!!! WRONG!!! It said: “MEET AT THE MARINA PAVILION 10:00. If lots of us show up, it will be really easy - AND if it’s nice weather, which it’s supposed to be - it will be “a walk in the park” (so to speak, LOL).”
MANY THANKS TO THOSE THAT TURNED OUT FOR “CLEAN-UP DAY”!!! You went way beyond the call of duty to come out a FULL WEEK before it was really supposed to be! MY FAULT - But at least it proves to me that someone is reading what we write on here, LOL! If you go and look at the calendar, Clean up Day was not scheduled until NEXT WEEKEND! I have no excuse other than that I must have read the dates wrong on the last set of minutes - it’s a numbers thing with me! Please Steve or anyone if you see a discrepancy of dates, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know ASAP!!! THANKS! Your webmaster - the one with egg on her face!!!
So it’s been done for this year, but it would be appreciated if everyone would keep an eye out for litter in our community and pick it up whenever you see it. And if some of you still want to go out next Saturday, April 3, please feel free to do so - every little bit helps because every littter bit of trash messes up our beautiful community.
[Got something you think would be good for our Bridgehaven Website, just email Judy, at webmaster@bridgehaven.net.]
